Curtis Jones completes £30m move to Inter Milan

Curtis Jones has left Liverpool for Inter Milan in a deal worth £30m, finalised late on Wednesday night with the 25-year-old given permission to undergo a medical, according to Sky Sports.

The move brings a 16-year association with Liverpool to a close for Jones, who joined the club's academy at the age of nine. He went on to make 228 first-team appearances and score 22 goals, picking up two Premier League titles, two Carabao Cups, the FA Cup and the Club World Cup along the way.

Jones becomes the third England international to join Inter this transfer window, following full-back Djed Spence and centre-back John Stones through the door at San Siro. Under previous head coach Arne Slot he made 49 appearances last season, often filling in at right-back as well as his more familiar central midfield role.

At Anfield, new manager Andoni Iraola is reshaping his midfield around Florian Wirtz in a 4-2-3-1 system, with Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch competing for the central berths and Wataru Endo and Trey Nyoni providing cover. With that competition for places, reports suggest Liverpool could reinvest the £30m fee before the transfer window closes.
