1. Who we are
Venture Soccer is operated by Venture Soccer Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17383644, with registered office at 71-75, Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Our ICO registration number is [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER — to be added once registered].
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at support@venturesoccer.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
Depending on how you use Venture Soccer, we may collect:
- Account data: name, email address, password (stored securely, hashed)
- Subscription and billing data: which tier you're subscribed to, subscription status, and payment history — card details themselves are held by our payment processor, Stripe, not by us directly
- Usage data: how you interact with our site and emails, such as pages viewed and email opens, collected via our hosting platform (Ghost)
- Communications: any messages you send us, e.g. via our contact email
3. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Provide and manage your account and subscription
- Deliver the weekly content you're subscribed to receive
- Process payments via Stripe
- Respond to support queries
- Understand overall site usage to improve the service
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Our legal basis for processing
We process your data under the following UK GDPR bases:
- Contract — to provide the subscription service you've signed up for
- Legitimate interests — for basic site analytics and service improvement
- Consent — for optional marketing communications, where applicable
- Legal obligation — for accounting and tax records
5. Who we share data with
We share data with the following processors, strictly to operate the service:
- Ghost (Ghost Foundation) - our publishing and membership platform, which stores your account and subscription data
- Stripe - our payment processor, which handles and stores payment card details directly; we do not store full card numbers ourselves
- Ionos and Render - for delivering our emails
We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers (including Ghost and Stripe) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent adequacy protections.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep account and subscription data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet accounting, tax and legal obligations (typically up to 6 years for financial records). You can request earlier deletion — see Section 9.
8. Cookies
Our site uses essential cookies required for login and checkout to function. We do not use additional analytics cookies; if we do, details and opt-out options will be listed here.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@venturesoccer.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your data properly.
10. Children
Venture Soccer is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to active subscribers by email or via the site.
